1. Objective, Players & Deck

1.1. Teams & Format: Standard Bazar Blot is played by 4 players in 2 fixed partnerships (2v2), with partners seated opposite each other at the table. Blotify also offers head-to-head 1v1 tables. Each deal consists of 8 tricks.

1.2. The 32-Card Deck: The game uses a 32-card French-suited deck consisting of four suits — Spades (♠), Hearts (♥), Diamonds (♦), and Clubs (♣) — with 8 ranks per suit: 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack (J), Queen (Q), King (K), and Ace (A). Every player receives 8 cards per hand.

1.3. Winning the Match: Teams accumulate points across hands toward a target match score of 101, 151, or 301 line points (depending on the selected table format). The first team to reach or exceed the target score at the end of a hand wins the match.

2. The Auction Phase (Bazar / Bidding)

Before trick play begins, players compete in an open auction (the "Bazar") to name the trump suit and commit to a minimum contract score:

• Minimum Bid: Bidding starts at 8 (representing 80 card/declaration points) and increases in increments (9, 10, 11, etc.).
• Suit Bids (♠ ♥ ♦ ♣): Naming a suit proposes that suit as trump if the bid wins the auction.
• Boy (No Trump / Առանց ղոզի): A player may bid Boy (NT), meaning the hand is played with no trump suit at all. In Boy, Aces and Tens rule every suit.
• Pass: A player who does not wish to raise may pass. After three consecutive passes following a valid bid, the highest bid becomes the contract. If all four players pass on the first round, the hand is redealt.
• Kapot (Կապուտ): Bidding Kapot commits the attacking team to winning all 8 tricks in the hand for a massive bonus.
• Quansh (×2) & Sur (×4): If the defending team believes the declarers will fail their contract, either defender may call Quansh (Contra) to double the hand's stakes. The attacking team may answer with Sur (Recontra) to quadruple the stakes.

3. Card Rankings & Point Values

One of the defining mechanics of Bazar Blot is that card hierarchy and point values change dramatically between a Trump suit and a Non-Trump (or Boy) suit. In Trump, the Jack (20 pts) and Nine (14 pts) are the two highest cards:

Last Trick Bonus (Dix de Der): Winning the 8th (final) trick awards an additional +10 card points, bringing the total card points in every standard hand to exactly 162 points (equivalent to 16 line points).

4. Trick-Play Rules (Follow Suit, Trump & Overtrump)

The player to the dealer's left leads the first trick. Subsequent tricks are led by the winner of the previous trick. Bazar Blot enforces strict card-play obligations:

• Follow Suit: You must play a card of the led suit if you hold one.
• Mandatory Overtrump on Trump Leads: When a trump card is led, you must not only follow trump, you must play a higher trump card than the highest trump currently on the table whenever possible.
• Cutting (Trumping) When Void: If a non-trump suit is led and you have no cards of that suit:
  • If an opponent is currently winning the trick, you must play a trump card (and if an opponent has already trumped, you must overtrump if you hold a higher trump).
  • If your partner is currently winning the trick, you are free to discard any suit (you are not forced to trump your partner's winning card).

5. Combinations (Declarations) & Belote

During the first trick, players declare combinations held in their starting 8-card hand. Only the team with the single highest valid combination scores its declarations (except Belote/Rebelote, which always counts):

• Tierce (Թերց — 3 sequential cards of the same suit, e.g., 7-8-9 or Q-K-A): +20 points (2 line points).
• Fifty / Cinquante (Հիսուն — 4 sequential cards of the same suit): +50 points (5 line points).
• Hundred / Cent (Հարյուր — 5 or more sequential cards of the same suit): +100 points (10 line points).
• Four of a Kind / Carré (4 Թուղթ — four cards of the same rank, e.g., four Kings):
  • Four Jacks: 200 points (20 line points)
  • Four Nines: 150 points (15 line points)
  • Four Aces, Tens, Kings, or Queens: 100 points (10 line points)
• Belote & Rebelote (Բլոտ և Ռեբլոտ): Holding both the King and Queen of the trump suit awards +20 points (+2 line points) when announced as the first of the two cards is played. Belote is never lost even if the opponent holds a higher declaration, and does not exist in Boy (No-Trump).

6. Scoring, Dedans (Inside) & Kapot

At the end of the 8th trick, card points and valid declarations are totaled:

• Contract Fulfilled: If the bidding team's total points meet or exceed their contract bid (and exceed the defenders' points), both teams score the points they earned, rounded to line points (divided by 10).
• Dedans / Inside (Տակ տալ): If the bidding team fails to reach its bid, they score 0 points for the hand, and the defending team receives all 162 card points (16 line points) plus the bid value and all declared combinations on the table.
• Kapot (Կապուտ — All 8 Tricks): Taking all 8 tricks awards a 250-point total (25 line points) plus declarations.

7. Pro Strategy & Fair Play on Blotify

Mastering Bazar Blot requires tracking trump cards (especially the Jack and Nine), communicating strength during the Bazar auction without overbidding, and timing when to draw out opponents' trumps versus discarding high-point Tens and Aces on a partner's winning trick.
